关于蜜三刀和味久斋 (About Me)
I am landed immigrant from
of creativity and innovation, making ordinary things extraordinary is a constant part of my life. With a hobby as a columnist for SingTao Newspaper (a division of Toronto Star), I launched this website on January 1, 2008, to share my cooking, handicraft and photography ideas for free. I decided to write vegetarian recipes were for memory of my grandma, who was a vegetarian, took care of me when I was in school, and inspired me to learn to become a person with wisdom.
My favorite quote is: Relationships-of all kinds-are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely, with an open hand, the sand remains where it is. The minute you close your hand and squeeze tightly to hold on, the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold onto some of it, but most will be spilled. A relationship is like that. Held loosely, with respect and freedom for the other person, it is likely to remain intact. But hold too tightly, too possessively, and the relationship slips away and is lost.
Having dark side of our personality doesn't mean we are evil, it is simply part of being human. We would not know sunshine if we did not know darkness. We would not know light if we did not know dark. We would not have courage if we did not have fear. We would not know love if we did not know hate. We need both qualities.

取名蜜三刀是因为想了好久没有想出中意的笔名,有一天脑子里莫名冒出小时候吃过的某种甜点‘蜜三刀’,觉得好玩,就用了这个名字。直到上了西餐烹饪艺术的第一课,才知道西餐大厨最基本的工具便是三把刀:法式大厨刀(French Chef’s Knife),剔骨刀(Boning Knife),和削皮刀(Paring Knife)。现在想来,蜜三刀这个名字与烹饪还是很有点关联的。 味久取自欧阳修的‘又如食橄榄,真味久愈在’,希望味久斋的一切能给你繁忙生活带来一丝清新,如食青橄榄之后所留下的那股清甜生津,龈颊留香的感觉。
